Terms of Use
The terms covering the Attain website and the Attain telemetry agent. Short, because the product is currently free and we would rather be clear than thorough.
1Who we are
Attain is operated by Hirexe. Attain and Hirexe's recruitment products are separate services with separate terms; these terms cover Attain only.
Reach us at team@attainhq.ai. A person reads it.
2What we provide
The Attain agent is desktop software that records metadata about work activity on the machines you install it on, and a dashboard that reports on it. What it records, and what it never records, is set out in full in our Privacy Policy.
The agent is currently provided free of charge, for unlimited machines, with no contract and no minimum term. If that changes we will tell you before it affects you, not after.
3Your responsibilities when deploying it
This is the part that matters most, so it is first among the obligations rather than last.
- Install it only on machines you own or are authorised to manage.
- Tell the people it runs on. The agent asks for consent on first run and shows anyone its own last 24 hours of activity at any time, but that is a floor, not a substitute for telling your team what you are doing and why.
- Satisfy your own legal obligations. Workplace monitoring is regulated differently across countries and sectors, and may require a lawful basis, an impact assessment or works council consultation. Those obligations are yours, not ours. Ask us for the full data capture reference and we will give your legal reviewer whatever detail they need.
- Do not use it to target an individual covertly, or in any way you would not be willing to describe to the person it runs on.
The line we ask you not to cross
If you cannot tell your team you are running it, do not run it. That is not legal boilerplate — it is the product's design assumption, and the reporting is built for finding repetitive work rather than for ranking people.
4About the builds
The Windows and macOS installers are currently unsigned. Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper will both warn you, and you have to click through those warnings to install. We would rather tell you that here than have you meet it unexpectedly.
Always download the agent from attainhq.ai. A build obtained anywhere else is not ours and we cannot vouch for what is in it.
The agent updates itself from our release feed once a release is published. You can uninstall it at any time through your operating system's normal process.
5What we do not promise
The service is provided as it is. While it is free we do not offer a service level, guaranteed uptime, or a guarantee that data collection is uninterrupted or complete.
Capture depends on operating system permissions that can be revoked, on the machine being awake, and on the agent running. Gaps are possible and the dashboard reports capture health so you can see them rather than assume coverage you do not have.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
6Your data
Activity data collected from your machines is yours. We use it to provide the service to you and to keep it working. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Raw activity events are deleted after 90 days. Ask us to delete your organisation's data sooner and we will, and we will confirm when it is done.
7Ending it
Uninstall the agent whenever you like, from any or all machines, without telling us first. Collection stops immediately when the agent is removed or paused.
We may suspend an account that is being used to breach these terms, in particular the deployment responsibilities above. If we do, we will tell you why.
8Changes to these terms
We will update this page when the terms change, and change the date at the top. Where a change materially affects you — pricing, or what is captured — we will tell you directly rather than relying on you noticing.
Changes to what the agent captures also trigger a fresh consent prompt on every machine, as described in the Privacy Policy.
